Drawings using a photo, or sometimes a mix of photos, as a basis for producing the lines and shapes. The aim is not to produce a stylistic illustration from the photo, for that can be done by software, more it’s using the photo as a guide to make the shapes and colours. Doing this though, can often result is quite a photo-realistic result. These are drawings and there’s always the danger that they end up looking too much like a photo: a kind of hybrid.
